Walking With God
Genesis 5:21-25
And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and
begat Methuselah: And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah
three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters: And all the
days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years: And Enoch
walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.

Enoch is spoken of in a very extraordinary manner in
this text. We read about his behavior in this world -- he walked
with God. And we read about the triumphant manner of his
entry into the world to come -- and he was not, for God took
him.
Enoch walked with God! This shows us that he was
reconciled to God the Father. The only way we can be
reconciled to God is through the righteousness of Jesus Christ. Enoch
had peace with God. That’s the only way he could walk with God.
For over 300 years, Enoch had and uninterrupted
fellowship with the Father. He always depended upon the promises
and the power of God. Enoch made progress in his walk. He continued
to move ahead.
What about you and me?
How do we make progress in our Christian
Life?
How can we walk with God?
1. Bible reading. The word
of God is profitable for reproof, for correction, for instruction
in righteousness.
2. Private Prayer. If you
want to keep up your walk with God, pray! While you go through
your daily routine, pray! Walk with God.
3. Meditation. It’s healthy
for your soul, just like digestion is to your body.
4. Take note of God’s Providence
in your life. Remember, the very hairs of your head are numbered!
Not a sparrow falls to the ground without the Father’s knowledge.
His eye is always upon his children. Learn from the trials and
testings he brings in your life.
5. Associate with other Godly people.
Keep company with those who also walk with Him. The early Christians
“continued steadfastly in fellowship.”
Like Enoch, you too can walk with God.
Make it your daily habit.
